The Haybarn · For families

Sandy feet, a bunk room, and cows for an alarm clock

We've brought our own children here every year for a decade. The Haybarn is set up the way we always wished a holiday house would be: somewhere for everyone to sleep properly, space to dump the wetsuits, and the good stuff within a short drive.

What makes it easy with children

A real bunk room

A dedicated bunk room on the first floor, beside the master bedroom and family shower room. A little space for bedtime stories and whispered holiday plans.

A third double downstairs

With a shower room on the ground floor — ideal for grandparents joining you, or older teenagers who keep different hours.

Cows on the doorstep

The dairy farm belongs to our neighbours next door. Cows mooing nearby bring a little of the Cornish countryside to your stay.

Beaches for every mood

Polzeath for surf and lifeguards, Daymer Bay for calm shallow water and rock pools, Rock for the estuary and paddleboards.

Rainy day list

The Camel Trail by bike, Padstow via the ferry, crabbing at Port Isaac, and our own scribbled list of soft-play, cinema and cafe backups in the house.

Space to be messy

Somewhere to hang wetsuits, rinse sandy children and leave the beach kit without it taking over the sitting room.
